Stay for 2 nights
The room was spacious and clean. Even though the furniture was old, beds were comfortable. Staff was courteous and helpful. Breakfast was very good, we were well-served by Mr. Barkat. For dinner we were served by Mr. Masum and Malik and both took good care of us.
Do not take "half-board" option if available. When we reached the restaurant for dinner, the restaurant was closed. Hotel management never informed the restaurant staff that guests have paid for dinner! After complaining to the management, we were given set menu to choose from. Thanks to Mr. Masum and Malik, they cooked multiple dishes in 45 minutes and made everything great.

What was the highlight of New Madinah Hotel
Decent choice
Clean reasonably comfortable hotel rooms, location is easy walk to Masjid Nabawi. We were able to get two connecting rooms with good space for a family of 5. Cheaper than most options within the ring road area.
Although hotel is owned by IHG, the hotel does appear old/dated. Lots of little things not working or quite up to standard (electric kettles, irons in the room that won't work, multiple clocks/time displays in the room that show different times all of which are wrong). Be warned that there are almost no food options in immediate block or two, but if you walk 10-15 minutes away from the Masjid (cross the ring road) there are plenty of Desi eateries, great value. Also be warned that there are virtually no ATM's nearby (and the front desk won't be able to direct you to one). The only ATM we saw for days was at edge of the Masjid (boundary of Janat ul baqi). Long line-ups during prayer time so plan accordingly. South side of the masjid is not as 'family-friendly' (i.e. food options) as the north side.
